Salamander Toasters

Salamanders apply intense radiant heat from above, which is how kitchens glaze, gratinate, melt cheese, colour a crust or toast at speed without turning the food over. They earn their place at the pass, where a plate needs ten seconds of top heat before it goes out. DHT carries Blue Seal Evolution 600mm and 900mm salamanders in gas and electric, Zanussi EVO700 front-open and three-open-side models, Goldstein 860mm salamander toasters, Cobra, Waldorf and Waldorf Bold.

Salamanders mount to a wall bracket, a stand or a purpose-built bench — see Matching Infill Benches & Stands for benches with salamander support built in. Kitchens doing volume toast alongside finishing work often add a unit from Toasters or a combined plate and toaster from Griddle / Toaster Combos.
